Blog Name

Well, I changed the name of my blog! No longer is it "The Insane Teenager Years", it is now, "On A Rainy Day". I mostly did this because my mom kept saying I got my other title from a movie. It was starting to annoy. So I changed it!! AHHAA!! (I'm going insane...)

Mission Trip

This summer's mission trip is coming along GREAT! My friend did the fliers for advertisements, and they're finally finished, so we can start handing them out. She's a great artist! I'll have to post a picture soon for them! As soon as school is finished, I'll be FREE!! ;) nah, just more fun work to do instead.

So I have to tell you a story. My dad recently got a facebook for this class he was involved with for his work, and he's really liking it. Well, he learned a new word! (a Facebook word!) I saw him use the other day, when he was typing to a friend, and went, "TTYL...S." (His name is Steve) He gave me the greatest face! It was like, "Yeah, that's right. I used SLANG. Uhuh." He was all proud. I couldn't help but giggle a little bit, and he was like, "what should, I not use that?" It was great!

And so, I must end with:
TTYL, my humorous teenager bloggers!! :3

Life right Now

It's close to summer..and the days are starting to blur together. so much work to do. And time isn't exactly in my favor. the sad thing is..work is the least of my problems. Family issues. Mistakes. It's not me, but...I'm learning a lot from it. i have this strange feeling...that makes me think..my childhood just ended. I never thought about my future in this light before. And I have a feeling it's going to be a hard life. So much wrong in the world..so much suffering. And I know that's only the half of it. i know there's good, because I know God's alive and well..and in charge. But right now, it's very difficult to see the better side. At this point, I wake up in the morning, and count down the hours beore I can sleep again. The only time I'm truly okay is when I'm at church, surrounded by people who are also in a good mood.
since I know no one really follows me here..I wanna make a promise to my parents, myself, and my God. I promise to do my very best in life...to see through what i begin...to make you proud of me..with all my heart, I don't ever want to fail miserably. and the beginning of failure is quitting what you start. so I won't ever quit. I promise!

Much love, bloggers.

College

So, I've been homeschooled all my life, right? And we have videos with actual classes on them for every grade. Well, we almost always have the same teachers every year! And my favorite is Mr. Duby. (he kinda looks like Anderson Cooper, I think. Except without white hair.) He's been a Bible teacher, and a history teacher. And he's just awesome! Well, today, my sister and I were procrastinating online looking up groups for our school teachers on facebook--and we found Mr. Duby! They had a recent picture of him, and it had a description of why he wasn't at PCA anymore.

Before i go on, I must tell you my future plans. After I graduate high school, I'm planning on going to Liberty university, getting a Business degree, and eventually starting a music shop here in my hometown. RIGHT?

okay, so back to my story then. We were reading the description, and I saw this: "Mr. Dave Duby is no longer working at PCA, but has transferred to Liberty University." (I'm paraphrasing of course) Can you believe that?? My favorite teacher of all time is working at the college I'm planning on attending!! This is great!

Well, this news has probably made my month, really. So altogether, a good day!

'Till then my excited teenager bloggers!!

AWANA

Well, there's only one week left of AWANA. I am very sad about that. I look forward to it every week. It's like a club that gets together weekly..goes to camp..and brings people together for a fun time to get to know the Lord better. (AWANA: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) Of course, it's all over the U.S., so, hopefully it's well known.
ANYWAYS, tonight was really fun. not sure why. I got there with my sister earlier than normal because our Leader had to pick us up. (Yes i don't have a car yet. Sad.) But it was a very interesting car ride. Her son, who is in the Journey group (which is pretty much the youth group AWANA style), is an interesting character. ;) kinda hard to explain, so I'll leave it at that.
Everyone's always pretty easygoing every week, and that might be the reason I like it so much. You see, I was born a shy, intraverted girl, so I sometimes find it difficult to be myself around people. (Which actually I don't understand, because if you spend your life being "yourself" how is it hard to be "yourself" around other people? what else would you be? someone else? But you don't know how..) well, that was my epiphany for the day. ;)

Later, my unique teenager bloggers!

Twins

And so, yes i am a twin! I have an identical twin sister located in the picture with flour all over our faces.. :D There are sooo many questions people ask us, concerning our twin-ness. So many, in fact, that I shall only share a small few:

Mostly, to begin, we could be walking around a store or something, and people would just randomly walk up to us and say, sometimes somewhat doubtingly, "Are you two twins?". When we answer and smile, there are tons of responses, that I have categorized for you.

1st response: "No way!! i knew it!! I was right you guys!" (teenager winning a bet)
2nd response: (smiling) "I thought so..but I thought if I got it wrong, this would be very awkward.." (us assuring them they're right)
3rd resonse: "I knew you were. You see, I have a twin too!" (one of my favorites)
And then there's always the old people who are astonished, because they've never actually met twins before. That's always fun. "pleasure to be of assistance, maam."

Second question: "Which one's older???" And then I would raise my hand..because I was born first. B)
Next question: "How far apart?" (Why people ask this quesion, i have no idea. *awkward*) 20 minutes is the answer. "BOY! That's a long time for your mother!" (see? *awkward*)

And then there's all those random question people come up with, or think is fun to ask, when really we have no idea, and would rather not answer "I have no idea" again and again, but here it is, "Which one is smarter??" (ussually these are the old guys who think they know waaay alot. haha) WE are probably equal in brains...just maybe in different areas. For instance, She is better than me in math alot..i am a better artist..that sort of thing. ;)

And some more "Q's" I will "A" for ya: "Do you share the same room?" We did for 15 years, but not anymore. "Do you always get the same haircuts?" Did for 14 years, but now they're slightly different. "Do you trick people alot?" Oooohh yess...as much as we can get away with. sadly as we get older, our differences are more defined.

Are there any more questions? :)

'Till then my curious teenager bloggers!

Something Beautiful NeedToBreathe

Only Hope (Switchfoot)

Well hello!

It's been quite awhile hasn't it? Actually the only thing that got me here is that I found a blog that has a picture of my great great great (or so) grandfather! Isn't that cool? His name was Christopher Columbus Slaughter! And what's funny is HIS father's name (George) is MY grandad's name today! Pretty cool to find out stuff about my ancestors. I saw his picture too! He has the Slaughter ears. ;)
Well, as other things go, I am older. i got my braces off a few months ago, and am LOVING it! I didn't know these big white things existed under the jewlery I had before! :D I'm almost out of school, and this summer is going to be full! My church is having a mission trip, and I'm going to be helping with that. sadly we can't travel this time around because of money problems, but we're still going to make it a blast! Besides, we have better resources in our own town! other than that, I'm teaming up with a friend to work on some lessons for this thing our church does every summer called "summer sports night" (we're trying for a different name this year), so I'll be helping with that every Wednesday.
The one problem with being home schooled is that you can fall behind, and the time that all your friends finish is long before you finish, so it's not always the most fun way to begin your summer. But oh, well. I'll be enjoying this one way more than any other summer. Mostly because this school year was certainly the hardest so far. How things have changed. Only a moment ago I was in the first grade learning how to read and write! Granted, my handwriting was absolutely atrocious! But I didn't know that then. Those were the easy days.

'Til then my devoted followers!
